Therapy for Health Professionals

Working within the health professions can be one of the most personally rewarding and challenging experiences for individuals operating in both the public and private sectors. As professional clinicians, we are however often unable or unwilling to explore our own individual therapeutic needs through fear of negative judgement, worry about our own competence or simple self-neglect.

At Think CBT we specialise in the provision of independent therapeutic services to health professionals, providing a safe and confidential environment to talk about good psychological health in the context of professional practice. We draw on a number of evidence based psychological models including mainstream CBT, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) and Compassion Focused Therapy.

We work on the basis that good professional practice is enhanced by improved personal wellbeing and emotional support. Working confidentially with a trained therapist can reduce stress levels, promote problem solving, improve emotional resilience and develop good personal insight, which we believe are essential factors in sustaining compassion in the service of our own clients.

We provide independent therapeutic support to GPs, psychologists, therapists, surgical specialists, nurses  and medical doctors. Our work is typically short-term and focused on the unique needs of individuals who balance healthy personal lives with the challenges and tentions of supporting their own patients and clients.

CBT Resources and Assessment Tools

We have published a wide range of specialist CBT resources and the internet's largest collection of online psychological assessments.  This material can be accessed by visiting our assessment and resources pages via the action buttons at the top of this page.

These tools and assessments can be used by health professionals and by clients alike, without the need for online registration or the provision of personal information.

Our assessments page includes a comprehensive range of established and clinically validated psychological tests.  These assessments take just a few minutes to complete and provide immediate scoring and feedback reports. This facility can be the first step in deciding referral and treatment options for patients or clients.

Clients may also independently take these assessments in their own time or between appointments.  The results can be sent by email or printed for review before appointments.

Follow the evidence and take a positive step towards changing your situation. Call us now on 01732 808 626, click here to send a message or  email us at info@thinkcbt.com.
